It may be hard to believe but a Boomer can get along and write music with Gen-xers and Millennials. A love of jazz brought most of us together and we just had to sprinkle in a spunky punk bassist. Getting real in the writers room has been a transformative collaborative experience for all of us. (original art by Mary Denend)
Playtonics began in 2018 after a summer filled with farmer's market gigs playing jazz, rock & some originals. Washington state based singer-songwriter Paige Hansen invited her very favorite musicians over to her home to jam & write music with the idea of collaborate songwriting. The band’s very first tune “Big World” came from the meeting. From there a few members were added and the 5 piece jazzy soul pop band “Playtonics” was born. One year later they’ve become dear friends who strive to unpack and get to the bottom of universal thoughts and concerns of love & life in their music. Since 4 our of 5 come from jazz backgrounds the tunes have a unique style and movement. It’s music you can groove to with people you want to spend time with. Our 1st EP is now available for download and on most streaming services.
